Content targeting made simple

How to use Labels to simplify screen targeting

If you’re managing dozens or even hundreds of digital screens across your business, you need a simple way to stay organised and make sure the right content reaches the right screens.

That’s where Labels and Values come in.

Together, they help you describe and organise your devices based on the characteristics that matter to your business, making it easier to identify the right screens and group them for content targeting.

What is a label?

A Label is a category used to describe and organise your devices, such as their location, store size, zone or screen type.

Instead of relying only on device names or manually finding individual screens, Labels give you a consistent way to structure your device network.

For example, a fashion retailer could create Labels for City, Store Size and Screen Type to organise screens across multiple store locations.

What is a value?

Values are the options within a Label that describe each device more specifically.

For example, your Labels and Values could include:

  • City: Stockholm, Malmö
  • Store Size: Medium, Large
  • Screen Type: Window, Checkout

A device could, for example, have the Values Stockholm, Large and Window. This makes it easy to identify screens based on the characteristics that matter to your business.

Use labels to build groups for easier targeting

A Device Group brings together devices that should receive the same content.

Using Labels and Values, you can quickly find devices with shared characteristics, group them together for easier targeting.

Instead of assigning playlists to devices one by one, you can assign a playlist to a Group and manage them together.

For example, a fashion retailer could create a “Summer Collection” group for store window screens across multiple locations.

Now that you know how Labels and Values can help you organise your screens and target your content, it’s time to create your own.
