This minor release in the Engage CMS introduces the availability of the Remote Control feature and several bug fixes to improve overall performance and user experience.

Remote Control Sidekick Access

The remote control feature has been activated in the production environment, providing users with seamless access to remote player controls.

Key Features:

  • Access from Player List View: Users can now open the remote control sidekick by clicking on the three-dot menu next to a player in the player list view and selecting the "Remote" option.
  • Access from Player Information Sidekick: Users can also open the remote control sidekick directly from the player information sidekick by clicking on the newly added remote icon.

Playlist Editing in Player Preview Sidekick

Users can now open the playlist in edit mode directly from the Player Preview sidekick by clicking the cogwheel icon.

Functionality:

  • Clicking the cogwheel icon opens the Playlist Edit sidekick on top of the Player Preview sidekick.
  • The Playlist Edit sidekick displays relevant playlist information, including name, items, scheduling, and playback settings.
  • Users can edit playlists and update information within the sidekick seamlessly.
  • Closing the Playlist Edit sidekick restores the Player Preview sidekick with updated information.

Bug Fixes

IoT Connection Verification: The UI now verifies that the device has established an IoT Hub connection before activating the Live Stream option in the sidekick, ensuring a more reliable user experience.

Live Template Preview Enhancement: A new preview component for Live templates has been built and implemented in the media info view within the Library. This will now replace the old component in the Player view, allowing users to see the actual preview of live templates.

Media Item Preview in Playlist Sidekick: Users can now preview media items from Live templates in the Playlist Sidekick by clicking on the thumbnail picture/placeholder. This enhancement provides greater visibility and ease of access to live media content.
